North Sydney Smallbore & Air Rifle Club Inc. run a friendly and safe Try shooting program designed to introduce you to the great sport of Target Shooting.

What disciplines of shooting can I try?

All Try Shooters will start off with Bench Rest shooting to give you the basics and a feel for how rifles work. We can then help you progress on return sessions see the steps below:

1. Benchrest
2. F-Class
3. F-Class with peep sights
4. Prone

When are try shooting sessions held?

Try Shooter sessions are by appointment only but are generally held either Tuesday or Friday evenings from 7:30pm – 9pm.

What is the cost for a Try Shooter session?

• Adults $80.00 per shooter
• Kids under 18 $40.00 per shooter

This Includes:

• Rifle hire
• Range hire
• Ammunition (50 rounds)
• Firearms Safety talk
• Supervision and coaching

How many people can attend in a session?

Generally, we can accommodate a maximum of 2 people per session to ensure shooters get enough time each. Larger groups of 3-4 may be possible with suitable notice.

What are the Age Requirements?

The youngest a participant can be is twelve years of age. This is required by the NSW Police Firearms Registry.

Can I join the club through the Try Shooter program?

We require three sessions maximum for a membership application to be considered, please be aware Membership not extended to all try shooters or licensed shooters who wish to join.
